Description:: This course provides teachers with a hands-on introduction to Google’s CS First platform to help educators set up their own computer club during or after school using Scratch. The aim is to help participants feel comfortable on the platform, while also getting them excited about starting their own club with students. By the end of the course participants will: 1. Understand the context of computer science in the Irish education sector 2. Understand the context of computer science in the global context 3. Understand the purpose and reasoning behind the CS First platform 4. Become comfortable with the structure and materials of the CS First platform 5. Feel confident and willing to set up a club Participants do not have to be an expert in Scratch the idea of setting up a computer
