Description:
• This course is being organised to mark the 100th Anniversary of the achievement of women’s suffrage 1918. • Apart from focussing on the suffragette campaign in Ireland, Britain and beyond, the course provides a good overview of the range of involvements of women in the period from 1912 onwards - Lockout, 1916 Rising, working in factories during WWI, Cumann na mBan, Sinn Féin etc • The changing role of women in everyday life, education and society • There should be opportunities for examining Herstory through online digital sources & local history in various part of the country • The course will also illustrate how Herstory can be explored through Storytelling, Art & Craft, Music etc.
